Our Story

From a Fitzroy studio to your pocket

We started on Greeves Street with two designers, one whiteboard, and a stubborn belief that mobile games could be genuinely social again. Here's how the Nexus grew.

  1. 2019

    Two desks in Fitzroy

    TapGuildNexus opened above a coffee roaster on Greeves Street, prototyping guild mechanics on nights and weekends.

  2. 2021

    First launch: Nexus Rush

    Our debut tap-strategy title hit 100,000 downloads in six weeks and reached #3 in the Australian Games chart.

  3. 2023

    Cross-platform guilds

    We rebuilt our netcode so Android and iOS players share the same guilds, leaderboards, and live seasonal raids.

  4. 2025

    A studio of 18

    Now a team of eighteen artists, engineers, and community leads shipping monthly content across three live games.

Yes. Every TapGuildNexus title is free to download on both Android and iOS. We fund development through optional cosmetic items and a seasonal pass — there are no pay-to-win mechanics and no energy timers that block you from playing.

Absolutely. Since our 2023 netcode rebuild, guilds, leaderboards, and live raids are fully cross-platform. Your account and progress travel with you if you switch phones or platforms.

Core single-player content works offline, but guild features, live seasons, and leaderboards need a connection. Progress made offline syncs automatically the next time you reconnect.

Yes — partner projects are a big part of what we do. We handle everything from prototyping to launch and live-ops. Reach out through the contact form and we'll book a discovery call from our Fitzroy studio.

Our games are rated PEGI 7 / 'Everyone' with no graphic content. Guild chat is moderated and can be disabled entirely in parental settings, and purchases can be locked behind a device PIN.
